Propose a project
Below, are some questions you may want to consider before starting to create your project at the bottom of this page. Please take time to browse through previous successful, and inspiring projects on Babeldoor. You can copy the template of the application form in order to prepare the complete description of your project.
Is your project interesting, innovative and able to have enough impact in order to concern and gather a wide range of people? Why do you think it is socially important? Will the beneficary be an organization, or a individual tax payer residing in Europe? Is there any website, blog or Facebook page where people can find additionnal information about your project? Can you summarize it in a few minutes, with simple, clear and convincing words? Are you ready to share it with the entire world?
Are you ready to tell us a great story? The description of your project must be perfect to make people want to support you. Put yourself in the shoes of those who know nothing about you. Explain clearly what you want to do (what, where, when, how, why, with whom), demonstrate the value and the originality of your project, tell us what help you need and why. Please be sure to proof read! Be unique, be yourself, but be amazing!
Be sure to use pictures that belong to you, that you have permission to use, and choose only good quality photos that will enhance your page. If possible, add a short video to present your project. This media can be really useful to increase your chances of succeeding with your campaign.
Your success will mostly be due to your ability to build a winning team of partners and supporters during your campaign. A campaign cannot succeed without the primary implication of your close friends, relatives, family, and people who know you. Have you already thought about asking them? Who amongst them can help you in what way? Who knows who? Have you thought about asking them for advice about your project and its presentation?
Whether you're looking to raise money or other resources you will need to offer rewards in order to attract your supporters. Be inventive and search for truly original gifts : they can be unique, funny, highly symbolic, but avoid commercial gifts and be sure that the reciprocity that you offer is directly related to your project. Only offer rewards that you will be able to deliver, within a reasonable time. Remember to identify their production and sending cost.
Your communication plan
Communication is the key to sucess in a crowd-resourcing campaign. Have you thought about that? What will you do to animate your campaign and stimulate interest and excitement? Do you know "the golden rule of the three network circles"? You will absolutely have to mobilize your first relational circle (friends and relatives) to sponsor your campaign and make it go viral. Then, the second circle (friends of friends and casual relationships) may be activated and will bring new people inspired by your project because of its local roots, its theme, its social impact, etc. It will be essential to find sponsors and relevant feedback on the web and in the press.
