Who are we ?
4 second year students at Chambéry nurse school.
Sarah Déléouendé Cretet / as a former auxiliary nurse , i have worked for 15 years in different hospitals. After i am graduated i want work with humanitarian organisation in Africa if possible.
Noémie Flandre / Studied acrcheology but decided to change after different experiences as a volunteer and travelling around the world. I needed a job that would allow me to be closer to the people and travel. I know how rich it is to meet people, discover new cultures and countries. This training period in Saint-Louis will be a great experience, and will strengthen me in my choice for the furture: work with humanitarien organisations.
Fanny LEFEVRE / I work as a volunteer since i am 13 years'old. I started working with an association helping children smile while they were ill and then i kept on working with many others "Les Maraudeurs De La Miséricorde", "Défis Solidaires" and Red. My professional project is working with humanitarian organisations linked with health in poor countries. Going as a student in Saint-Louis' hospital will help me understand what are health problems in undevelopped countries. I discovered Senegal as a tourist and i am happy i can go back again and know more about it.
Pascale Couet Josèphe I have worked for 15 years in tourism and I decided too to change and become a nurse. I used to live in Senegal for 4 years a very long time ago and it was an unforgettable experience. Going back to Saint-Louis and study nursing will be of great interest : undestand what are public health issues, how are working humanitarian organisations on health matters, how adapt its professional posture to another culture and manage with less working tools.
*Why going to Senegal for a nurse training period? *
- to understand public health issues in an area where access is difficult and where healthcare professionals must deal with lack of ressources, organisation, education, prevention.
- experience the difficulty to cure when there is a different culture, language, and when priorities are not the same.
- discover problems that huamintarian associations meet to carry out projetcs.
We choosed to go to Saint-Louis with the association A.M.I.S or Association d’Appuis Multiples aux Initiatives de Santé, it has been working for years in health projects between region Nord Pas de Calais and region de Saint-Louis du Sénégal
